Congressman Byron Donalds proudly hails from Brooklyn, New York. With degrees from Florida State University, Congressman Donalds had a successful career in finance and wealth management, and in the Florida House of Representatives before becoming a Member of Congress. He was elected in November 2020, with over 62% of the vote in the general election.
Rep. Donalds served four years in the Florida House of Representatives and was a champion of education reform, criminal justice reform, and election integrity. Rep. Donalds serves as just one of two African-Americans Republicans in the United States House of Representatives.
Rep. Donalds proudly represents Florida’s 19th Congressional District, which encompasses Southwest Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. The district stretches from the cities of Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, and Marco Island.
During the 117th Congress, Rep. Donalds is proud to serve and hold membership on the following Congressional Committees & Subcommittees: House Budget Committee, House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Subcommittee, the Economic & Consumer Policy Subcommittee, the House Small Business Committee, Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access Subcommittee, and the Oversight, Investigations, and Regulations Subcommittee.
